Any assistance will be provided to Nepal – JICA President
26 May, Kathmandu: The National Planning Commission of Nepal has urged Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to extend technical and economic assistance to render relief and rehabilitation to the people of quake-affected area in an effective manner.
In a meeting with a visiting delegation comprising JICA President Akihiko Tanaka, NPC Vice-Chairperson Prof Dr Govinda Raj Pokharel said that the economic and technical assistance is indispensable for the quake survivors to build temporary shelters before the onset of the monsoon.
JICA President Akihiko Tanaka expressed readiness for extending aid to Nepal at the time of emergency and pledged that no stone would be left unturned to provide economic and technical cooperation required for Nepal to cope with disaster.
“The President of JICA told me that he and his organization is ready to provide any kind of assistance required for Nepal and would take necessary decision to this effect”, Vice-Chairperson Pokharel said.
The high-level delegation is in Nepal to take stock of the ground reality of the quake-hit areas in the country. RSS
