Filmmaker’s Forum at Shilpee
KATHMANDU, APR 13 – The Nepal Independent Filmmakers’ Society is organising Filmmaker’s Forum at the Shilpee Theatre premises in Battisputali on April 14. The event, according to the organisers, is a Nepali New Year celebration programme.
Three award-winning Nepali short films—Chicken Soup (2006), Ma Khusi Chhu (2011) and Son (2014)—will be screened during the event that starts from 4 pm. A short discussion—on the style, technicality and concept of the films—will be done with the audience after screening each film. The discussion will be led by film critic Yangesh. All three filmmakers will be present during the screenings and will be participating in the interaction programme.
Ma Khusi Chhu is a film by Abhinash Bikram Shah and is centred around the lives of a woman and a man who have very different definitions of happiness. When the two disparate characters meet, they are forced to rethink their ideas of life.
Son is a film directed by Subarna Thapa and is about the relationship between a boy and his father (played by Thapa himself), who is in prison.
Chicken Soup is a film by Keshab Pande.
