Four students jump at Mahakali river after failing exam

DARCHULA, APR 13 – Three students are missing after jumping at the Mahakali River subsequently failing their grade 6 and 7 examination. The missing students aged 13-14 year old are the students of Daktu-based Rastriya Higher Secondary School.

According to school teacher Rajendra Samanta, the missing students have been identified as Mamta, Chunra, Puja Koli and Mitu Lohar.

The incident was reported after an Indian national from across the border saw the students jump in the river. The place from where the students jumped is closer to the Indian border and is 21 kms away from district headquarters Darchula.

The students who had gone to the school to see their results, returned soon after seeing that they had failed the exam.
