Dhami show puts KCTC into final
KATHMANDU, APR 10 – An allround performance from Aashish Dhami put Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre (KCTC) in the final of the Kathmandu Cricket League with a four-wicket victory over Baluwatar Cricket Club (BCC) on Thursday.
Electing to field first in the 45-over-a-side match at the Tundikhel grounds, KCTC bundled out BCC for 139 in 37 overs after Dhami picked up five wickets to wreak havoc in the middle order. Dhami then returned with the bat laying the foundation for KCTC, who reached 143-6 in 34.4 overs.
Dhami led a strong KCTC reply sharing 55 runs for the opening wicket with Mahesh Chhetri before both batsmen were dismissed in a space of four runs. Dhami made 32 off 47 and Mahesh scored 44-ball 23. Aadil Khan (24) and Rajesh Pulami (16) shared 30 runs for the fourth to ease the chase. Ram Thapa picked up two wickets for BCC.
Earlier, Nandan Yadav took two early wickets to reduce BCC to 22-2. Rohit Poudel offered a brief resistance with a 35-run stand with Rabin Joshi (14) and another 32 with Thapa (18). After Pulami removed Poudel, Dhami did the rest with three more middle order wickets breaking BCC backbone.
Man-of-the-match Dhami finished with 5-18, while Yadav picked up 3-22. Poudel top scored with 28 off 40 balls and No 10 batsman Anup Oli was their next best scorer with 23 not out off 40 that included three boundaries.
