Sherpa brothers held with 8 kg gold
SINDHUPALCHOK, APR 01 – Police on Wednesday arrested two persons in possession of eight kg gold from Tembathan of Jalbire in Sindhupalchok district.They were smuggling the illegal gold from the bordering town of Khasa in Tibet.
The duo identified as Pasang Sherpa and Lakpa Sherpa, residents of Gumba-8 in the district, were held while they were travelling on a Capital bound passenger bus (Ba 2 Kha 9202).
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Barhabishe Police and Jalbire Police intercepted the two brothers at Jalbire. The police found 3 kg gold from their bag and 5 kg from their bodies.
