2 die, over 3 dozen injured as passenger buses collide

BIRATNAGAR, APR 01 – At least two people died leaving more than three dozen passengers injured when two passenger buses collided head-on with each other at Koshi Highway in Morang on Wednesday.

The accident took place at Namuwa along the Koshi Highway when a bus, Ko 1 Kha 4190, en route to Biratnagar from Udayapur and and another passenger bus, Ko.1Kha. 3805, coming from the opposite direction, collided with each other at Biratnagar-Itahari road section of the highway.

The identities of the deceased are yet to ascertained, informed police. Both died while undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

Among the injured 10 passengers have sustained serious injuries.

Meanwhile, the injured passengers are undergoing treatment at Nobel medical college teaching hospital, Golden hospital and Neuro hospitals in Biratnagar, police said.
